My selective memory.
I have a selective memory. Forgetting much more
than I remember. It’s impossible to remember everything. And I wouldn’t want
to. Mostly, I try to remember the good things. Actions and events that make me
look and feel good. I suspect most people
do that. Though I know people that focus on feeling bad. About themselves and
about the world. Strange, isn’t it? Maybe they want to be brutally honest. Even
if that means punishing themselves and others. I’d rather live an illusion than be unhappy all
the time. Maybe I’m able to persuade
myself that an illusion isn’t an illusion. I’m merely practicing a selective
memory game. –Jim Broede
