While speeding around the circle.

When I go bicycling, I often follow the same one-mile circular route over and over. Maybe 30 or 40 times a day. A neighbor thinks I’m crazy. That I should peddle out into the country. Enjoy the scenery. And take along a picnic lunch. Yes, that’s a good idea. But it doesn’t suit my purpose. Which is to ride and think at the same time.  I mull things over.  Carrying on conversations with myself. I’m indifferent about the scenery.  Oblivious. I’m merely getting much-needed physical exercise while doing mental gymnastics. Some of my best thoughts come while speeding around the circle. –Jim Broede
