The best I can do is laugh.

Mental illness. Indeed, it’s sad. A particular kind of mental illness. One to be abhorred. To be shunned. It’s a plague.  Engulfing far too many minds. Right here in America. I wish for a pill. A magic potion. Yes, a cure. To eliminate this devastating and pathetic mental disease. Makes one cruel and insensitive.  A liar. A cheat. A scumbag. The lowest of the low-lives. Of course, I’m referring to the disease called Republicanism. Turns people into raving lunatics. Pushes them to the far, far right. Off the cliff.  I know. I know. I should show more empathy. More sympathy. More compassion. For people with mental illness. Especially those afflicted with far right Republicanism.  But I confess. I’ve lost my sensitivity. I can’t even throw a pity party for this bunch of mentally ill misfits. The best I can do is laugh. To not take Republicans too seriously. –Jim Broede
