For the sake of gleeful satisfaction.

I’m drawn to politics. In an analytical way. Because the game of politics happens to be mean-spirited. That fascinates me. Why are politicians so mean-spirited? Is that what draws them to politics in the first place? Opportunities to practice being mean. By the use of political shenanigans. To punish those one doesn’t like. To make trouble for perceived enemies.  Doesn’t bother some politicians to be grossly unfair. Yes, downright mean-spirited. I find that to be a particular trait of Republicans. Especially those on the lunatic fringe. If given power, they are capable of becoming caricatures of Hitler. They would persecute political foes merely for the sake of gleeful satisfaction. –Jim Broede
