I’m derelict. When it comes to checking and answering my phone messages.  Merely checking every now and then. Furthermore, I seldom activate my cell phone. Really, only when I travel. If someone wants to reach me, it’s best by email. That, I check daily. I communicate that way, too. In writing. I prefer the written word over the spoken word. But not everyone believes that.
