However fleeting.

A clear mind. Free of clutter. No confusion. That’s what I try to bring. To my Alzheimer-riddled friend Ron. When we go for our walks. He’s encouraged to focus on nothing else. But the walk. Our movement. Forward. At what lies ahead. Ron is to leave everything else behind. Not to think too much. This is about now. This single moment. A pulse beat of actual life. Going for a walk. Moving one foot ahead of the other. A progression. Ron, Ron. I implore. So wonderful to be able to breathe deeply. To see the grandeur of nature. The budding trees. The blue sky. To feel the warmth of sunshine. The gentle and soothing caress of a breeze. Nothing else matters. Than to be immersed. In the moment. However fleeting. –Jim Broede
