To be nevermore.
I am coming. To learn. To be thankful. For being granted my
life. Even if there’s no afterlife. Absolute nothingness instead. I can imagine
having come from nothing. And returning to nothing. With no lingering memory.
Of anything. It really doesn’t matter. I won’t be able to lament. If I don’t
become an eternal spirit. Maybe life was designed. To be only temporary. Like
it or not. It’s good enough. To merely having
had the life experience. Even if it is to be taken away. Without the
guarantee of an afterlife. The nice thing about nothingness. Is that there’s
nothing left to fear. Some people actually choose that option. They wish for
nothingness. To not have to think anymore. Makes me wonder. If that’s the
option preferred by the creator himself. That after he created the cosmos. He
chose to die. To be nevermore. --Jim Broede
