I hope it's for real.

I wonder. If. For a long, long time. We have allowed people in positions of power. To do pretty much as they please. Yes. With few, if any restraints.  For example. Powerful men. Lording it over women. For centuries and centuries. If not forever. We have allowed men. To become powerful and dangerous icons. By looking the other way. And allowing them to get away with murder, so to speak. We have treated them as monarchs. After they have forged their way ahead of the pack. As leaders in politics and industry and the social order. Of course, I’m seeing signs of women. Saying no, no, no. Banding together.  Declaring. Enough is enough. That it’s time for change. We aren’t going to take it anymore. I hope. That I’m not imagining this stuff. That it’s for real. --Jim Broede
