I’d like to join. A truly caring group. An organization. A
team. Anything. Even a political party. To get stuff done. For the common good.
But I can’t think of one. When it comes down to it. They all go through the
motions. They really don’t care. I feel let down. As if it’s useless. To get
revved up. To stir a revolution. Makes
me wonder. If a societal lethargy has set in. A defeatist attitude. Nobody
seems to be having fun. Especially my favorite baseball team. The Chicago Cubs.
They just got swept. Four games. By the
last place Cincinnati Reds. The Cubs played horrible, horrible baseball. Like
they didn’t care. Confirms my suspicions. About the lethargy. That seems to be
taking over everything. Hey, everybody. Time to snap out of it. Let’s show some
life. --Jim Broede
