What I should have been.

Humor. Humor. And more humor. Goes a long way. In making the most of life.  Give me a few laughs. Every day. That’s the key to survival. I find humor virtually everywhere. Even when I’m with humorless people. They don’t know it. But they’re laughable. I call them natural born comedians. Always making their rounds. With straight and serious faces. They don’t get a joke. Or pretend they don’t. Because it’s a sin to laugh. But I suspect. That even Jesus told jokes.  Made his disciples laugh. Or should have.  Maybe they missed the punchline. The best of kings. Appreciated humor. Slapstick stuff.  That’s why they had court jesters. I missed my calling. That’s what I should have been. A court jester. Maybe it’s not too late. --Jim Broede
