Accepting the world. As it is. Maybe that’s all one need do.
Is that asking too much? I wonder. How many of us do that. Mastering the art of
acceptance. And if that qualifies us. As reasonably happy. Artisans. Maybe that’s
the most precious and gifted art of all. To cease struggling. By hopping into the stream
of life. And riding the flow. And not
worrying about one’s destination. I’ve been tempted. To swim upstream. Fighting
the current. But that may be all wrong.
Sure. It may build my muscles. My endurance, too. But is that the real
purpose of life? Wouldn’t we all be better off? By taking it easy. --Jim Broede
