Friends & lovers & other things.

I am thinking of the nature of friendship. Between two people. I suspect that true lovers are also best friends. That's part of a total package. I find it difficult imagining anything less than that. That would help to make the perfect love. One can have multiple friends. But only one best friend. And only one lover. Oh, I suppose one's lover can be less than a best friend. And a best friend doesn't have to be a lover. But my true love has to be my best friend. And my lover has to be a woman. One that I perceive as extraordinary. A friend can be a woman or a man. Or maybe even a cat or a dog. A spirit, too. I think of god as a friend. In a spiritual sense. I can talk to god. In intimate ways. I don't necessarily think of god as man or woman. Just as an indefinable something. --Jim Broede
