I ain't gonna miss an opportunity.

I like to talk. To carry on dialogues. With people, of course. One on one. But I don't like to quarrel. I'd rather talk about meaningful stuff. About life. And love. About nature. About philosophy. Maybe not so much about politics. Because that often goes nowhere. And it's a depressing subject. But I know people who don't want to talk. About anything. They clam up. Maybe they are stupid and have nothing to talk about. I'm a naturally curious guy. So I like to know things about people. And what they think about all sorts of subjects. Even personal things. Often, we aren't personal enough in our relationships. Too secretive. Or too shy. I used to be that way. Shy. When I was younger. Not yet grown up. Maybe I thought I'd sound too stupid. But eventually I stopped caring about that. I learned that it's all right to be stupid. To even make an ass of one's self. That's how one learns. Succeeds. By taking risks. I'm living in Sardinia now. Because I took a risk. A chance. And if I had been my old shy self, this would never had happened. I would have missed another golden opportunity. --Jim Broede
