In a sleepy little village.

It's a sleepy little village. Could be mistaken for a ghost town. Sneaked up on us while traveling in the countryside of Sardinia. On a lazy Sunday morning. A road block stopped us from driving into Tratalias. So my true love and I parked the Fiat. And walked in. All by ourselves. Though later we saw several other visitors. Turns out that Tratalias was a thriving place in medieval times. With a big, big church. Which still stands. But in desrepair. The church and many of the adobe-like structures in Tratalias are being restored. Refurbished. Into homes in many instances. And people are gonna move into the village. And give it new life. Already, there's a restaurant. Called the Il Gallo Nero. Serving fine Sardinian food. And Sardinian wine. And best of all, pleasant Sardinian decor. Including a thatched ceiling. And amber-colored tablecloths. We initially had the place all to ourselves. But two more couples came in later. Just the right balance. The way I like to live. Quietly. Peacefully. In a sleepy little village. In the Sardinian countryside. --Jim Broede
