Laughing all the way.
Everything will be OK. Everything falls into place. Eventually. That’s what I tell my true love when things go wrong. When the CD player doesn’t work. Or when we can’t connect to the Internet. Or the car won’t start. It’s all minor stuff. And things we can live with or without. At least for now. Yes, one has to roll with the punches. Make do. Improvise. Or do without. For a little while. I refuse to get wrought up over little things. For instance, I’m unable to connect to the Internet at the moment. So I go into Microsoft Words. And draft this piece. For posting later today. In my blog. When the Internet is up and working. My true love still gets upset a little too easily. But she’s getting better. Gradually. She’s younger than me. When she ages a bit, she’ll learn to be more calm, cool and collected. Yes, aging ain’t all that bad. Because one learns to live. Better. More relaxed. In less of a hurry. I don’t let much bother me. For instance, the crab lady that lives in the flat below us. I just let her rant and rave. In Italian. Which I don’t technically understand. But I can tell from the tone of her voice. She’s crabby. Awfully crabby. And I get a kick out of that. I do a good imitation. Sometimes, that makes my true love laugh. Which is a good sign. That’s exactly how to take the crab lady. With a rollicking laugh. Actually, it’s a good way to take the absurdities of life. Laughing all the way. –Jim Broede
