The unexpected pleasure.

I leave room for unexpected pleasure. As much as possible. The idea is to build flexibility into my day. So that I can deal with the unexpected. Especially unanticipated pleasures. Such as meeting a delightful stranger.  And going with the flow. Many people don’t like to live that way. Makes them uneasy. If everything doesn’t go as planned. They get upset. Often letting an unexpected event ruin their day. I’d rather savor life as it comes. Usually one can do that. Even so-called annoying events can  be turned into pleasures.  Such as a flat tire, for instance.  It may mean delaying or canceling what one had planned to do next. But that may set one off on another path which turns out to be better than the original pursuit. Yes, making the best of a bad situation. So that it leads to the unexpected pleasure of the day. –Jim Broede
