The stress from worrying.
Why do some people worry, and others don’t? Maybe it’s simple. Some have reason to worry, Others don’t. But really, I suspect that some are natural born worry warts. As for me, maybe it’s that I convince/persuade myself not to worry. Or at least to worry in moderation. Don’t let worry consume me. I know people who are consumed by worry. About everything from their health to whether it’s gonna rain tomorrow. Yes, the worry can be over nonsensical stuff that really shouldn’t matter. In many instances, they find it impossible to enjoy the moment. Or today. Because worry dominates their thoughts. Anyway, once figured I’d become more of a worrier when turning older. If I reached my 70s or 80s, I’d worry about dying. Reaching the end of life. But if anything, I’ve become less of a worrier. I revel in the thought of having reached what some consider old age. Makes me feel blessed. I would have hated to die in my 30s or 40s, or at an even younger age. Now it’s easier to conclude that I’ve been given a fair shake in life. Either by a creator or just by mere chance. It’s how one evaluates life and circumstance. I encourage worriers not to worry. But that’s easier said than done for the true born worrier. Some of ‘em can’t stop worrying. No matter how hard they try. They go into depression and often worry themselves to death. Makes me wonder if that’s a leading cause of one’s demise. The stress from worrying. –Jim Broede
