Living with consequences, quickly.

Relatively short and sweet. That’s the national election in Italy. To determine the party that names the next prime minister. In America, it takes two or three years of extensive campaigning to pick a president. In Italy, two or three months at the most. Goes to show that Italians are more sensible and perhaps more sane than Americans. Of course, the Italians may pick a buffoon for their leader. But then that might be better, let’s say, than a George Bush or, my gawd, a Mitt Romney. Americans have got Barack Obama. And he may be better than any of Italy’s potential prime ministers.  But hey, no matter who gets selected/elected, better to have it done with quickly. And get on living with the consequences. –Jim Broede
