Knowing when.

Blowing things out of proportion. Also known as overreacting. This is a bugaboo that I try to avoid. Not always successfully. But then, I have lots of company. I live in a world of over-reactors. Especially in the political realm. But I’ve learned to play it cool. To step back. And evaluate the situation. Before sounding off. No sense in making a fool of one’s self. Better to let the other guy put his foot in mouth. Anyway, I like to let people know where I stand. On all sorts of political issues. But I’m a good listener, too. Knowing when to shut my mouth. --Jim Broede
