Without an honest moment.

Everyone should have the option of speaking one’s mind. In writing. For posterity. Doesn’t matter if that offends someone. Friend or foe. Yes, I find comfort. In just letting my thoughts flow. Mostly nicely. But hey. If it turns out to be not so nice. That’s all right, too.  Might as well let people know where I’m coming from. I have no secrets. And I don’t mind uncovering the thoughts and actions and motives of others. That’s why I became a journalist. It was an excuse. To investigate. The behind the scenes stuff of life.  Believe me. I soon discovered. That truth is far stranger than fiction. That means I’ve gone up some pretty dangerous paths. People have so very much to hide. They live secret lives. Yes. Yes. Turns out. That they live a life of lies. They even lie to themselves. Getting through life. Deceptively. Without an honest-to-goodness moment. --Jim Broede
